What Do You Do When “What If?” Becomes “What Now?”

by

Hint: Doing nothing is not an option.

Crisis happens. It happens so often some people make a career out of crisis management. So what do you do when it appears the world is collapsing?

The first step is to access the damage. It may not be as bad as you think. (Of course, it may take years to realize that, but if you keep moving forward, you’ll get there!)

I know it is hard to be positive when your business is under water, or you can’t make your deliveries because there isn’t any gas available, or your best idea has just been released by your competition. The challenges of life may pull you down, but it is your attitude that keeps you there.

Once you have found something positive, start building on it. Before long, you will be succeeding, maybe even better than before.

Create a plan of action and then implement it. Tweak it as needed. Remember that your employees and customers are looking to you for guidance.

Our economy may get worse before it gets better, but it will improve. Have a plan. You want to be ready when your customers and prospects start buying again.

Use any slow time to create new products, refine processes, and improve service. Dig deep into your data for information that can be leveraged into better marketing and operations. If you do, your competition will be left behind.
